BOSTON, Massachusetts and CERRITOS, California--Millennium Dental Technologies, pioneers of the patented LANAP protocol for the treatment of gum disease and manufacturer of the PerioLase MVP-7 digital dental laser, has announced plans to attend the 10th International Symposium on Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry June 10-13, 2010, in Boston.

The symposium is a triennial industry trade show co-sponsored by the International Quintessence Publishing Group and the American Academy of Periodontology. Millennium Dental Technologies will be at Booth #19 in the Clarendon Room, and provide refreshments and informal presentations of the LANAP protocol.

"Our focus is to empower dental professionals so that they can provide patients worldwide with the benefits of less invasive, less painful gum disease treatment," shared Dr. Delwin McCarthy, chief technology officer of Millennium Dental Technologies and vice president of yhe Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry.

"Hosting a booth at the ISPRD will allow us to interface with world-renowned clinicians and clinical researchers, some of whom have already been introduced to MDT through the published research of my colleague, Dr. Raymond A. Yukna."

In 2007, the International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry published, "Histologic Evaluation of an Nd:YAG Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure in Humans," a report by Raymond A. Yukna, DMD, MS; Ronald L. Carr, DDS; and Gerald H. Evans, DDS.

The report presented histologic results in humans following the LANAP protocol for the treatment of periodontal pockets. Dr. Yukna performed the research while serving as Louisiana State University's director of graduate periodontists. Yukna currently serves as director of advanced periodontal therapies at the University of Colorado, School of Dental Medicine.

The 10th international symposium not only represents the first time it has convened since publication of the results, but it also marks the 30th anniversary of the International Journal.

The theme of this year's meeting centers on a "multidisciplinary approach to providing optimal patient care," and will feature three sessions daily presented by speakers who will address current trends in the dental fields of periodontics, restorative dentistry, implant and esthetic dentistry.

In addition to being at Booth #19, Millennium Dental Technologies will highlight its presence at the event by leading LANAP protocol presentations in the 800-square-foot breakout space of the Clarendon Room.
