Power scaler debuts at CDA meeting

CHICAGO, Illinois--Hu-Friedy, a leader in the manufacture of dental instruments, launched a user-friendly magnetostrictive ultrasonic scaler at the 2010 California Dental Association meeting.

SWERV3, a compact scaler designed for the comfort of dental professionals and their patients, was endorsed by dental professionals who tested it at the Hu-Friedy booth at the meeting.

April Fifield, RDH, noticed the lightweight and well-balanced hand-piece, which features a “comfort zone” grip to reduce muscle strain. “I like the fact that it’s quieter, and if there’s less vibration for the patient, it will be more comfortable for them,” Weaver said.
