Internet hub provides way to locate doctors based on their experience

Sept. 5, 2008
Cosmetic dentists and plastic surgeons can look beyond SEO ranking to attract patients via Cosmepedia.com.

PORTLAND, Oregon--Cosmepedia.com is a new Internet hub that is the brainchild of cosmetic doctors from around the world.

These doctors are connecting with patients on the Internet by featuring:

1. Skill and experience in the choice of a cosmetic doctor beyond an anonymous list brought up in a Yahoo or Google search controlled by paid SEO.

2. Real time patient networking where they can share experiences on Cosmepedia's own social network, Wowzu.com.

Cosmepedia.com highlights a doctor's actual cosmetic procedure experience to help patients make more informed decisions.

According to cosmetic dentist, Dr. Matt Bynum, of Simpsonville, S.C., "There is a huge and growing concern by doctors that patients could potentially wind up with a doctor with very little experience in cosmetic dentistry or plastic surgery but lots of experience with SEO."

Cosmepedia works with leading institutes, such as LVI Global, in which dentists go through rigorous training to hone their craft as cosmetic clinicians. When a doctor completes a program, such as LVI, or is accredited with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, they are light years ahead of doctors who simply join an organization and claim to be a cosmetic dentist.

According to cofounder Lorne Ray, the difference in experience is astounding. Still there is little legislation in place that regulates the claims that doctors make as long as they have a license.

In conjunction with Cosmepedia.com, Wowzu.com is a social media platform in which people make connections based on their favorite life experiences (Wows) such as a wedding, a travel experience or a makeover.

The site is designed to allow users to control the process, and communicate freely. Cosmepedia.com and Wowzu.com will link to each other to create synergy.
