ANNAPOLIS, Maryland--The Organization for Safety and Asepsis Procedures will hold a California Dental Practice Act and Dental Infection Control course June 13 at the Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa in Palm Springs, Calif.
The course, which will be taught by Eve Cuny, RDA MS, will cover current information on today's standards for infection control and the legal requirements of the California Dental Practice Act.
California-licensed dentists, assistants, and hygienists must complete at least two hours of infection control and two hours of California dental law continuing education for relicensure.
The OSAP program focuses on practical ways for the dental team to meet the minimum standards for infection control and ensure compliance with the California Dental Practice Act. California Dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and dental lab technicians will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge of dental infection control while satisfying California license renewal requirements and having the opportunity to network with friends and colleagues.
Topics covered include transmission of bloodborne disease, disinfection, sterilization, exposure incident follow-up, dental unit waterlines, scope of practice, auxiliary duties, and regulatory activity that has a direct impact on dental practices.
The course for California dental professionals will take place during the annual OSAP Symposium. Lunch is included with registration along with an opportunity to visit infection control product vendors.
Participants will receive four units of California continuing education credit from the California Dental Board as satisfying the continuing education requirements for Infection Control and the California Dental Practice Act. Four hours of CE credit will also be available through DANB and ADA CERP.
