MARYVILLE, Tennessee--DenTek, a developer and manufacturer of many oral health products, received three honors in the 25th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards competition.
The company received merit awards for an ad campaign in professional dental publications to launch its Professional Oral Care division, for an animated video designed to educate consumers about the use of DenTek Nightguard--a custom-fitting solutions for bruxism and nighttime teeth grinding--and for package design for the company's new line of professional products.
The whimsical ad campaign was designed to encourage dental hygienists to offer DenTek oral care products to their patients to promote good oral hygiene habits in their daily life. The ads featured leading, well-known dental hygienists offering DenTek products to patients in real-life situations.
For example, in one ad, RDH magazine Award of Distinction honoree Millie Thaw offers a patient a DenTek Triple Clean Floss Pick in a movie theater.
"Dental hygienists are taking a much more proactive role in the overall health of their patients," noted Pamela J. Runge, DenTek Vice President/Professional Oral Care. Our campaign was able to illustrate that dynamic in a unique and attention-getting way."
The animated video is hosted by a DenTek "Grind Guru" character, who educates consumers about finding relief from the problems of bruxism and night grinding and instructs them on how to custom-fit their DenTek Nightguard at home.
A record of more than 4,400 entries were received for this year's Healthcare Advertising Awards, widely recognized as the health-care industry's oldest, largest and most prestigious advertising competition.
Judging was by a national panel of healthcare marketers, advertising professionals, healthcare consultants, marketing professors and the editorial board of Healthcare Marketing Report.
