LOUISVILLE, Kentucky--Dr. Michael Gurney, a graduate of Creighton University School of Dentistry, is the 2009 grand prize winner of the Hanau Best of the Best: Excellence in Prosthodontic award from Whip Mix.

The award is presented to the graduating senior who has excelled in the study and clinical applications of prosthodontics. Dr. Gurney was nominated by Dr. Dennis E. Nilsson, chair of the prosthodontics department at Creighton. He is in the advanced prosthodontic program at Ohio State University School of Dentistry.

Each dental school is given an opportunity to nominate a student who has shown excellence in clinical applications and academic performance. Each of the nominees receives a Hanau Wide-Vue Articulator in recognition of their outstanding accomplishments.

From these nominees, Whip Mix evaluates the entries and selects one student as the grand prize winner. The winner receives an all-expense paid trip to the American College of Prosthodontics meeting.
