AMHERST, New York--Ivoclar Vivadent has announced a series of 2010 Odyssey Diode Laser Training Course schedules.

The courses include hands-on sessions designed to advance understanding of lasers in dentistry. Taking place at education and training centers in New York, Florida, Canada, and California, the seminars will provide a dental team with comprehensive reviews of the benefits of soft-tissue laser technology and its potential for increasing practice productivity and profitability.

The lasers course, limited to 24 attendees, will address laser tissue interaction, types of lasers and how they differ, how to enhance patient care with quick techniques involving minimal or no bleeding, pain, sutures or postoperative complications, and other topics.

Attendance for one doctor per office is free with proof of purchase of an Odyssey laser dated Jan. 1, 2009, or after. Additional doctors from the same office may attend for only $469 each. One hygienist or assistant per office may attend a program with his or her doctor for $199.

The high-tech laser hygiene only course, designed for hygiene teams and dentists, focuses on establishing a greater comfort level when using a soft-tissue diode laser, as well as treatment planning and determining proper power settings for periodontal applications.
