Imagine pink stucco cottages along the sea, white sand beaches with crystal-clear sparkling water, riding a bike or moped around town and down to the beach, playing golf on world-renowned courses, or duty-free shopping for eye-catching jewelry, beautiful china, and fashionable English woolen scarves, skirts, and jackets. Where else could this be but Bermuda — that tiny, beautiful gem of an island in the mid-Atlantic only two days away by luxury liner and half a world away in spirit.

If you've ever thought about taking a cruise, now is the perfect time. AAWD, in conjunction with award-winning author and trainer Dr. Judith Briles, is sponsoring a cruise to Bermuda aboard the Royal Caribbean luxury liner Nordic Empress. We cordially invite you, your family, and staff to join us. It's going to be a relaxing but busy schedule, and we guarantee you're going to enjoy it. And best of all, it's tax-deductible.

The cruise leaves New York City on the afternoon of August 31 and arrives in King's Warf, Bermuda, two days later. There you can take a fascinating cruise of Bermuda's Sea Gardens in a glass-bottom boat or go kayaking in Paradise Lakes where you can see the great blue herons as well as a number of other exotic birds and sea creatures. Browse the shops and museums of the Royal Naval Dockyard, go deep-sea fishing for marlin and other big game fish, or simply go fishing for unique gifts at the Bermuda Arts Centre and Crafts Market.

Then, it's off to Hamilton where a rental bike will take you wherever you want to explore. Ride along the Bermuda Railway Trail and experience the stunning seascapes, the luscious flowers, and the smell of perfume in the air. Enjoy a cup of conch chowder down by the water or in town, or have a cup of tea and enjoy that special feeling of English island hospitality. You'll long remember the humor of the locals, the rhythm of their dancing and the way they just know how to enjoy life. You'll come back enriched and relaxed.

While on board the cruise ship, we'll be treated to outstanding lectures by some pretty outstanding people. Our own Helyn Leuchauer, DDS, will be lecturing on alternative medicine. Helyn is an adviser to the Price-Pottenger Health and Healing Wisdom Foundation. She is always an interesting and provocative speaker. Her insights about the illness of modern man and the benefits of healthy eating and living are thought-provoking. If you wish, she will design a regimen tailored to your specific health needs. You just may come away from this with a whole new way to think about health and diet.

Dr. Judith Briles and her staff will provide the other continuing education. Judith is known as the Sabotage and Conflict Doctor. A pioneering researcher and author on workplace sabotage, she has conducted five national studies over a 15-year period and has used them as the basis of her published work on the subject. She is an award-winning author, speaker, trainer, and consultant.

Other speakers include a husband and wife team — Tom Uustal, MBA, MEd, and Diann Uustal, RN, MS, EdD. They will talk about "Leadership in the Changing Workplace" and "Caring for Yourself, Caring for Others." As women, we all face the challenges of leadership while having to balance a number of roles. How to meet those challenges will be the topic of their talks. The continuing education will be scheduled to allow you maximum free time on shore in Bermuda. In addition to the lectures, you'll be able to treat yourself to spa treatments, fitness training, whirlpools, a casino, world-class food, and just relaxing in the lap of luxury. Bring the kids along for Adventure Ocean Youth Facilities and Ocean Club available at no additional charge.

The cost — including cruise, port taxes, all meals, shipboard entertainment, workshops, books, and materials — is $1,050 for an inside cabin and $1,225 for an outside cabin. Deduct $200 for nonworkshop companions. Airfare is not included, but has been arranged by Royal Caribbean to be very reasonable and guaranteed to get you to New York in time for the connection with the ship.

To book, call The Briles Group, Inc. at (800) 594-0800. This cruise usually sells out, so while we cannot guarantee that rooms will be available at this late date, we will do everything possible to accommodate you. If you absolutely can't come on the cruise, do the next best thing and order Dr. Briles' latest book, Zapping Conflict in the Health Care Workplace, by calling the same number.

It will be a cruise to remember, and we really look forward to a fun time. Sure hope to see you aboard!
