In this week's video, Dr. Christensen explains that the answer to the crown therapy question depends on how extreme the crown lengthening was when it was accomplished initially. You should want the gingiva to mature before you go in and retraumatize it by placing a crown or a veneer, so you need to judge how extreme the crown lengthening procedure was that you accomplished.
Dr. Christensen then shows an example of a man who underwent a simple crown lengthening, and this example takes about four to six weeks healing before crown therapy can be undertaken.
