Dental Ventures of America has introduced two new concept products for the one-step polishing of ceramic and composite restorations. Ceramo-Dotz ceramic polish and Compo-Dotz composite polish represent new formulas of abrasive polishing pastes supplied in single-use pellets. Following the polishing of restorations on an individual patient, the unused portion of the small polish pellet is discarded to simplify the prevention of cross-contamination. Ceramo-Dotz and Compo-Dotz represent a formula alteration of a product that was selected as one of the top 25 new dental products for 2008. They are reported to impart a high-lustrous polish on ceramic and composite restorations in just seconds. This polishing compound is water-soluble and easy to remove from the polished element. Ceramo-Dotz and Compo-Dotz are packaged in jars containing 60 individual application "dotz." Each jar is accompanied by three mini-polishing wheels for convenient use on a contra-angle handpiece.
