April is National Autism Awareness Month. My friend and colleague, Karen Raposa, RDH, MBA, has extensive knowledge and personal insight into autism. Her compassion for people stricken with this disorder and her extensive product knowledge — coupled with a real world understanding of both clinical challenges and the corporate world — provide a unique perspective that we can all learn from.
In January, while attending the Yankee Dental Congress, we had a chance to sit down and catch up on “life,” personally and professionally. I was thrilled to reconnect with her (it had been a few years).
So as the calendar turns to April, she is lovingly on my mind. I have include some useful resources and articles. These articles appeared in last year’s RDH eVillage and RDH eVillage Focus, and they are totally relevant today. Having just read them again, I picked up more depth and understanding that I had missed along the way.
Please take the time to read these empowering contributions to furthering our learning and awareness of autism.
