University of the Pacific Dental School to be named after Dr. Arthur A. Dugoni

Nov. 20, 2003
Only one other university in the United States or Canada has ever named its dental school in honor of an individual.

Upon the recommendation of the University of the Pacific Dental Education Foundation, the Board of Regents approved a resolution to name the School of Dentistry in honor of Dr. Arthur A. Dugoni, one of the nation's most respected educators and leaders in the dental profession. Naming a dental school is a rare occurrence; only one other university in the United States or Canada has ever named its dental school in honor of an individual.

This accolade will be bestowed upon Dr. Arthur Dugoni during his silver anniversary as dean at Pacific. A celebration of this event will take place Aug. 27-28, 2004. Details of the event will be available soon. More information can be found on UOP's Web site at www.pacific.edu.
