SOUTH BEND, Indiana—Heraeus Kulzer, a leader in dental esthetics, has announced that the PalaMeter prosthetic measurement device has been awarded a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The PalaMeter is a multi-faceted measurement tool that was developed by Heraeus Kulzer and Dr. Andreas Polei in close cooperation with dental technicians and dentists to simplify the daily work of dental laboratories and practices. Practical in design and made from flexible material, its helpful color coding makes the PalaMeter easy to use. The PalaMeter can be used to measure: the width of a gap, the esthetic curve, dimensions for implantology, appliance width, the vertical dimension, the dental arch, the height of incisal length, and the position of the mandibular arch in relation to the maxilla. It can also be used to: determine the lowest point of the alveolar ridge profile, to mark the molar point, to draw a 22.5º angle starting from the occlusion center, to define a definitive dental stop line, to find and mark the midline, to check symmetries, for marking without parallax errors, and for determining angles between tooth surfaces. “We feel the PalaMeter is one of the most versatile measuring instruments for prosthetics in the dental industry,” said Lesley Melvin, product manager for Heraeus Kulzer. “Dr. Polei and our engineers went to great lengths to listen closely to numerous dental technicians and dentists, and the result is an exceptionally user-friendly device. It’s really the Swiss Army knife of dental prosthetic measurement.” For more information, call (800) 431-1785 or visit www.heraeusdentalusa.com.
