Bruce Angus and Tom Hoey, founders and principals of MoGo Sport, decided that Kaepernick was the brand ambassador to for MoGo Flavored Mouthguards.
“Colin is the most exciting athlete in the NFL today,” said Angus. “He also has a great smile that he wants to keep for the rest of his life, and he can count on MoGo to protect it and help him be more comfortable and refreshed on the field.”
Kaepernick’s commitment to the community, especially children, is important to MoGo Sport. Many children do not like wearing traditional mouthguards and avoid wearing them. This can endanger their teeth, and MoGo Sport hopes that Kaepernick’s endorsement will encourage young athletes to wear mouthguards properly.
“Nobody likes the old, rubber-tasting mouthguards,” said Kaepernick. “MoGo is the first mouthguard that I actually enjoy wearing. I think other athletes, especially kids, will actually start wearing their mouthguards so there will be less dental and mouth injuries. MoGo feels and tastes great. I don’t know why anyone would choose to wear an unflavored mouthguard.”
Other athletes agree. In a recent study, 90% of youth athletes chose flavored mouthguards as compared to plain.
MoGo’s mouthguards are available in orange, lemon, fruit punch, blue raspberry, mint and bubble gum in adult and youth sizes for $11.99. MoGo also makes flavored mouthguards, especially for children and adults with braces. New flavors are in development.
The partnership was brokered by Kaepernick’s sports management and marketing agency, X-A-M Sports and MoGo’s marketing agency-of-record,French/West/Vaughan.
