Curasan AG, a world leader in regenerative medicine and dentistry, announced the opening of its U.S. subsidiary's office in Durham, N.C., near the RDU Airport and Research Triangle Park. Curasan Inc. will handle sales and marketing functions, as well as customer service and corporate operations.

Curasan's main product is Cerasorb DENTAL, a synthetic bone regeneration material used primarily by periodontists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons for ridge augmentation, filling of bony defects, and repair of periodontal defects.

"We're excited about bringing Cerasorb DENTAL to the U.S., since the product has helped more than 100,000 patients throughout Europe since 1997," notes Ken West, General Manager of Curasan Inc. "Clinical studies show that Cerasorb resorbs nearly completely within six to 12 months for most patients. Dentists are increasingly interested in this highly engineered synthetic product because it does not rely on bovine sources of bone or on the sometimes painful process of harvesting bone from the patient."
