The launch includes two major product innovations: the Aeras 500 Elite Handpiece and Aeras Compressor.

At the 2020 Chicago Midwinter Meeting, DentalEZ launched the new Aeras Intelligent Platform. The introduction includes two major product launches: the Aeras 500 Elite Handpiece by Star and Aeras Compressor by Ramvac.

The new Aeras Intelligent Platform is unique in that it can collect data, share information, and streamline standard-of-care processes. In doing so, DentalEZ aims to create an environment of outstanding patient care and practice efficiency.

“Smart technology for the sake of itself isn’t smart at all," says DentalEZ President Heather Trombley. "But when it can save time and energy, reduce waste and downtime, and improve performance, that adds up to an increased focus on patients, and that’s smart. Aeras technology allows for easier operation of devices for the dentist, which translates into a better experience as soon as a patient sits in the dental chair. DentalEZ is committed to improving the products that dentists have come to trust. This is what we are striving for.”

The new Aeras 500 Elite offers similar cutting performance to an electric handpiece but with the familiar lightweight, ergonomic, and tactile feel of an air‐driven unit. The handpiece packs an industry‐leading 39 watts of power in a traditional‐sized head. In addition, the handpiece holds exclusive patent-pending RFID technology that allows for new possibilities in practice interconnectivity. When used with a compatible reader system, the Aeras 500 can automatically track handpiece usage, monitor sterilization, and display location at any given moment. This feature can potentially reduce record-keeping work and enhance productivity for staff.

The legacy of Star innovation continues in the design of the Areas 500 Elite, which delivers impressive power while staying cool. It is capable of easily cutting through the latest high-strength ceramic materials . The sleek handpiece easily reaches posterior areas, while a cool‐spectrum LED fiber optic light illuminates the space. The product's in‐office turbine replacements allow for ongoing readiness.

This enables automatic detection when potential issues arise, with diagnostic information being relayed to designated persons to help prevent unwanted downtime. All information can be accessed via a web browser, along with the ability to schedule when the equipment powers on and off. All Aeras smart‐enabled compressors come with a monitoring service subscription are protected with an 8‐year warranty.

The Aeras Compressor has Dual Desiccant Dryer Technology that prevents harmful bacterial growth. It's rocking piston design provides quiet operation while doubling the compression ring lifespan and producing peak 100% continuous airflow.
