The UV Series water purifier produces short-wave UV light that destroys bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms.

Rank Industries, Inc. introduces its UV Series water purifier. It produces short-wave UV (254 nanometer) light that destroys bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms by interfering with DNA and RNA in the organism's reproduction cycle. No chemicals are added to the water. It will purify water at a rate up to two gallons per minute and work well with a dental unit.
The four methods approved for water purification by the Environmental Protection Agency are UV light, lodine, Chlorine, and Ozone.
The UV Series water purifier has been tested by an independent testing laboratory, Truesdail Laboratories, Inc. using standards set by the U.S. Department of Health for ultraviolet sterilization. The testing protocol also complies with the standards set by the National Sanitation Foundation. At flow rates of 0.5, 0.75, 1.0, and 2.0 gallons per minute the percent reduction of E. Coli seeded water was greater than 99.999% compared to the control.
