AlgiNot FS works for preliminary impressions, provisional impressions, orthodontic models, bite registration, sports guards, and bleaching trays.

ORANGE, California--AlgiNot alginate replacement VPS material from Kerr is now available in a faster set time to increase patient comfort and reduce chair time without compromising any of the superior performance AlgiNot offers.

The alternative works for preliminary impressions, provisional impressions, orthodontic models, bite registration, sports guards, and bleaching trays.

"This new version of AlgiNot reduces the setting time without reducing working time, so clinicians get faster results without sacrificing performance or convenience. Plus, the improved thixotropic consistency reduces slumping and displacement from the impression tray. With these improvements, AlgiNot FS is well on its way to becoming the most popular alginate replacement material available today," said Kerr Product Manager James Lobsenz.

"At the heart of everything Kerr does is continuous improvement based on feedback from our valued clinical community. So the success of AlgiNot came along with requests for minor improvements, and we listened, delivering what is now a full range of set times within this exciting alginate replacement brand, a first for the segment," said Meghan Moore-Rizzo, director of product management.

As traditional alginates benefit from inherent hydrophilicity, alginate alternatives must behave the same way. AlgiNot FS breaks the surface tension of intraoral fluids and displaces them to register detail.

With elasticity, AlgiNot FS rebounds from deformation better than traditional alginates--or even other alternatives--to produce an impression that is a negative replication of the dentition.
