New electronic waxing unit released

Waxer keeps melted wax at a controlled temperature available for delivery to the work site at the touch of a finger tip.

Dental Ventures of America has announced completion and release of a new, American-produced electronic waxing unit.

This waxer, while smaller than its original European counterpart, functions in the same manner. It keeps melted wax at a controlled temperature available for delivery to the work site at the touch of a finger tip.

The result is increased production. The lower, controlled temperature wax flow allows improved accuracy and marginal integrity.

The original model has sold for $2,500 to $3,900; however, with the circuitry and wax-containing handpiece of the domestic model, the same function is now available for a fraction of the cost.

A touch of the sensor strip on the handpiece spatula activates a Swiss micro-motor that causes a controlled quantity of wax at a specified temperature to be expressed from the waxing tip. A continuous supply of wax, delivered with control works for the completion of crown, bridge, coping, diagnostic, and press-able wax patterns.

Formerly sold at more than $2,000, the first 100 units of the domestically produced design will be offered at a special introductory offer of $750.
