AUSTIN, Texas--Econo-Keys, a new line of low-cost waterproof keyboards and mice, has launched an e-commerce site.
The line, which currently has six keyboards and two mice, specializes in discounted medical and mobile input devices that sell for approximately 20 to 30% less than most competitor prices.

Multiple studies have confirmed the hazards of standard office keyboards, which contain crevices between keys that trap debris and harbor bacteria. University of Arizona microbiologist Charles Gerba concluded office keyboards contain 60 times more germs than a toilet seat, largely due to the fact keyboards are rarely disinfected, and disinfection on standard keyboards is often inefficient.
Econo-Keys are completely sealed to IP67 standards to keep out dust, dirt, and moisture. The rubber sealing makes the keyboards completely washable with any hospital-approved disinfectant.
The diverse line includes keyboards with integrated touchpads and mouse buttons, compact mobile keyboards, and desktop mice available in white and black.
