Crosstex International has been awarded exclusivity for the material that was used to manufacture Nu Gauze® general-use sponges.

Crosstex International has been awarded exclusivity for the material that was used to manufacture Nu Gauze® general-use sponges. Utilizing this material, Crosstex has begun manufacturing Ultra Gauze™, which will fill the void left by the phase-out of selected wound care products by industry leader Johnson & Johnson® Wound Management, a division of Ethicon®, Inc., to the healthcare marketplace.

Ultra Gauze™ material is manufactured using patented APEX® technology. This technology creates engineered fabrics that combine all the strengths of traditional materials with the most advanced manufacturing technology and processes. Using highly developed, state-of-the-art laser imaging techniques, new and innovative fabrics are created with unique textile-like properties. Along with the look, feel, strength, and durability of traditionally woven or knit fabrics, the materials produced through this three-dimensional process have added absorbency, are more versatile and cost-effective. Ultra Gauze™, made of this proprietary APEX™ fabric, provides almost 50 percent more absorbency than traditional sponges.

Crosstex is celebrating its 50th year of providing the healthcare industry with innovative, high-quality infection control/single-use disposable products. For more information, or to request a sample, call 888-Crosstex.
