It's Dental Infection Control Awareness Month!
The Organization for Safety, Asepsis, and Prevention (OSAP) is spearheading its annual September Dental Infection Control Awareness Month (DICAM) and offering downloadable resources for holding a successful campaign. This year's theme is "Staying in the Know Together," and OSAP encourages practices to use the hashtag #DICAM22 to showcase their infection control and safety practices and demonstrate their commitment to keeping patients safe.
Each week of September will focus on a different IC topic:
- Hand hygiene (September 5 – 9)
- Dental unit waterlines (September 12 – 16)
- Instrument preprocessing (September 19 – 23)
- Personal protective equipment (September 26 – 30)
Dental offices can access promotional and support materials for DICAM, including a brochure, customizable patient letter, and downloadable social media toolkit, on OSAP's website.
