While the world is watching the events unfold this morning in Watertown, Mass., the 90 employees of Pulpdent Corporation are all too close to the situation.

According to its web site, “Pulpdent Corporation is a family owned business that has served the dental profession worldwide with exceptional products since 1947. Pulpdent’s manufacturing facilities in Watertown, Massachusetts, include a sophisticated chemical production laboratory and automated machine shop.”

Police activity in Watertown – where authorities believe they last saw "Suspect No. 2" from the Boston Marathon bombings during a chase overnight – seems to be picking up, CNN reported this morning.

Watertown is a town where “fear is huge right now,” said Larry Clark, Pulpdent’s Director of Clinical Affairs at Pulpdent Corporation (pictured above, on left).

Clark had this to say this morning via e-mail (as cell phone usage is being discouraged in the area because of the threat of more explosives being detonated).

“We are in lockdown in our home now. Pulpdent is closed. The initial gunfight in which the older brother was killed took place a block from our office manager’s house last night. We were made aware of the incident late last night and started phone calls to the early shift. We were making contact with employees until 06:00. All 90 employees we contacted.”
