MELVILLE, New York--Stanley M. Bergman, chairman and chief executive officer of Henry Schein has joined fellow Team Schein Members across the United States to commemorate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Team Schein Members wore pink and generously contributed their funds in support of cancer research and care.

"On a day like today, Team Schein Members genuinely wear their hearts on their sleeves, and the color of our commitment is pink," said Maureen Knott, Henry Schein Vice President of Dental Product Advertising and an architect of Henry Schein's Think Pink, Practice Pink Program.

"Breast Cancer has affected a family member or friend of nearly every person at Henry Schein, and it is a wonderful feeling to see this sea of pink and realize that we all share the desire to raise awareness of the importance of early detection and support cancer care."

Henry Schein has launched the 2012 Think Pink, Practice Pink program, which has raised more than $500,000 during the past seven years to raise awareness of breast cancer and other cancers by offering a wide selection of "pink" products.

Products range from health-care consumables and practice supplies to apparel and gift items for the company's dental, dental laboratory, medical, and special markets customers. Through the end of December 2012, a portion of the sales of these special products will be donated to the American Cancer Society through the Henry Schein Cares Foundation.
