CHICAGO--The American Academy of Periodontology has announced that it will allow the reprint of the Guidelines for the Management of Patients With Periodontal Diseases in publications that follow certain criteria.
Those criteria include:

Must be reprinted in entirety (including the FAQs and Explanation of Terms)
Cannot be presented in any excerpted or shortened version
Must be submitted to the Academy for review and approval prior to publication
Credits
Credits must include the following:
"Reprinted with permission from the American Academy of Periodontology."
"The Guidelines were approved by the Board of Trustees of the American Academy of Periodontology in August 2006."
"Any citation of this document must be to the Journal of Periodontology as: American Academy of Periodontology. Guidelines for the management of patients with periodontal diseases. J Periodontol 2006;77:1607-1611."
"The Guidelines will be updated periodically. The most current version of the Guidelines is available online at http://www.perio.org/resources-products/posppr3-1.html
