Ivoclar Vivadent introduces Appeal®

Microfill cementation system features easy clean-up and "value" shade range.

Appeal is a new "easy clean-up" microfill resin cementation system that features a unique "value" shaded arrangement. Available in a variety of light cure (amine-free) and dual cure shaded cements and try-in pastes, Appeal's "value" shade range is based on the true influence of the cement on the "value" (relative brightness) of the final restoration.

Appeal is indicated for the adhesive cementation of composite, ceramic and fiber reinforced restorations. It is available in two assortments for different fields of application. The Anterior Kit is designed for light-curing indications, consisting of 7 shades of amine-free base materials in single syringes. The Posterior Kit is designed for dual-curing indications, consisting of 3 shades of base and catalyst materials in double push syringes.

Appeal's anterior shade designations of +1, +2, +3 are related to how much the cement may increase (brighten) the value of the final case and it's -1, -2, and -3 shades are related to how much the cement may lower (reduce brightness) of the case. Appeal 0 (medium value) offers almost complete transparency and is a great way to minimize any affect of the cement on the final shade. A water soluble try-in paste is available for each shade which is matched to the matured fully polymerized shade of Appeal. This logical value system of shading enables a close working relationship with the laboratory and ensures proper shade selection by simply determining if the restoration needs to reflect an increased value or a decrease in value.

Similarly, Appeal dual cure is available in one of three shades; +1, 0, -1 reflecting the ideal range for posterior applications. It is offered in double push syringes, insuring consistent dispensing of the base and catalyst in proper proportions.

Appeal's reinforced microfill technology provides high wear resistance with long-lasting polish and provides an ideal interface between ceramic/tooth structure and gingival tissue. It is ideal for use with all-ceramic restorations (IPS Empress®) and the new microfill inlay/onlay system; Concept® HP. Its formulation is also designed for easy clean-up regardless of your preferred placement technique. Whether you prefer to tack and clean, "wave" to partial cure or full cure prior to clean-up, Appeal's ramped set allows easy clean off of excess material -- resulting in saving time chairside and resulting in atraumatic finishing.
