Glidewell Labs presents clinical video

May 3, 2010
The 14-minute presentation highlights shading requirements of BruxZir Solid Zirconia all-ceramic restorative material.

Dr. Michael DiTolla, director of clinical education and research at Glidewell Dental Laboratories, explains and demonstrates the benefits of BruxZir Solid Zirconia in the lab’s latest clinical video, “Unique Shade Considerations for BruxZir Solid Zirconia.”

The 14-minute online presentation highlights the shading requirements of this dental restoration. If you have prescribed BruxZir Solid Zirconia previously, learn why solid zirconia dental restorations may appear too dark outside of the mouth but will match a prescribed shade when seated in the mouth.

BruxZir Solid Zirconia is an all-ceramic restorative material. BruxZir restorations are strong due to their monolithic nature. The material can be prescribed for bruxers and grinders. As a result, BruxZir Solid Zirconia has higher light reflection properties than do traditional ceramic materials and natural tooth enamel.

“I became concerned that dentists around the country would receive their BruxZir restorations and wonder why they were so much darker than what they prescribed, so we made a clinical video to show you how and why this phenomenon occurs,” Dr. DiTolla said.
