Most dentists find it fairly simple to identify healthy, caries-free areas. Identifying areas with obvious caries is likewise pretty straightforward. But how do you handle cases that fall into the gray area between the two? Not obviously caries-free, but possibly due to staining or some other culprit, these areas can be tricky to diagnose. Drs. Maragliano-Muniz and Glazer are here to discuss how they proceed when faced with a case that falls into the gray area.
