Consider nominating yourself or someone else for the DALE Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

Do you have — or do you know someone with — expertise in research, e-learning, dentistry, office management, public health or corporate interests, or experience as an educator in the oral healthcare field? The Dental Auxiliary Learning and Education Foundation (the DALE Foundation) is seeking nominees with expertise in as many of these areas as possible for an open position on its Board of Trustees.

The Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB) established the DALE Foundation in March 2010 as a separately incorporated, independently governed nonprofit organization. As the official DANB affiliate, the DALE Foundation benefits the public by providing quality continuing education to dental professionals and conducting sound research to promote oral health.

Excellence is important to the DALE Foundation, which is why all of its e-learning courses and study aids are created by educators and experts in the dental community. The DALE Foundation’s staff members and trustees are dedicated to helping individuals advance their careers with the latest tools and information.

“The DALE Foundation provides continuing education to existing professionals, enabling them to utilize and incorporate their acquired knowledge into their daily practice,” explains Board President-Elect Darci Barr, CDA, EFDA, BS.

The online, interactive structure of the DALE Foundation’s courses and study aids allows learners to work at their own pace, go back and review specific sections, and check progress along the way. “I believe the latest technology has already improved our ability to deliver and enhance learning,” notes Board Secretary-Treasurer Ginny Jorgensen, CDA, EFDA, EFODA, A.A.S. “The sky is the limit to the ways it can be used to deliver, improve and enhance learning.”

If you are interested or know another qualified individual interested in being considered, submit a nomination to the DALE Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Complete nominations must be postmarked or received by email or fax by May 15, 2012, and must include:

  • Letter of interest from the individual being nominated (or self-nominated)
  • Current resume/curriculum vitae
  • A letter of recommendation from an employer, supervisor or co-worker, or from someone who has served with the nominee on a committee or board of a state or national oral healthcare organization
  • Written response to interview questions (interview questions will be provided to all nominees who meet the May 15 deadline)

Submit nominations and self-nominations to:

The DALE Foundation’s Nominating Committee may also choose to follow up with nominees by phone. DANB’s Board of Directors will review the recommendations of the Nominating Committee and will hold elections in May. All nominees will be contacted with the results of the election by June 15, 2012.
