New licensing policy lowers barrier of software ownership costs

PerioPal launches novel software licensing approach for periodontal exams.

BEAUMONT, Texas--PerioPal LLC has developed a new licensing policy enabling users to take advantage of PerioPal's advanced voice controlled periodontal examination recording and reporting system.

This new policy allows the PerioPal system to be installed on as many workstations as desired. All workstations sharing a database are able to access a common "pool" of activated exams.

A new exam is recorded and stored utilizing one activated exam. Any PerioPal workstation having access to the database can recall a previously recorded exam regardless of which workstation initially performed the exam.

Now PerioPal is licensed by purchasing blocks of exams.

Users can now purchase any number of exams via an internet connection. These purchased exams are activated on the user's database.

"Last year we reviewed the advancements in server technology along with our existing licensing policies. We set out to make certain that our policies are flexible enough to allow users to take advantage of the performance benefits of PerioPal while simultaneously reducing costs and maximizing their IT investment," said Michael Reeves, PerioPal's software developer.

"With an ever-increasing number of users wanting flexibility in their practices, the option of licensing block exams on a shared server lowers the barrier of high software ownership costs for periodontal documentation."

PerioPal's Start-up Package lets users get acquainted with the benefits of voice driven periodontal charting with a minimal up-front expense. The introductory package includes licensing fees, select hardware components for optimal recording accuracy, comprehensive training materials, and trial exams.

Once the trial exams have been used, additional blocks of exams may be purchased on the internet through a simple transaction activating the additional exams on the database.

The price per exam is based upon the number of exams purchased. Purchasing in bulk will save as the cost per exam decreases at higher quantities. Ongoing software upgrades are automatically included.

Support packages and advanced training options are available. PerioPal 7.1 comes Bridge and Network Ready.
