CHARLOTTE, North Carolina--Sirona Dental Systems, a leading producer of dental CAD/CAM systems, has introduced its most intuitive and user-friendly software developed for the inLab CAD/CAM system.
Based on Sirona's patented biogeneric technology, the new software has been developed to substantially reduce the learning curve for inLab users.
Sirona's new software enables dental laboratories to create inlays and onlays more quickly and efficiently than ever before, opening up a completely new dimension in the computation of tooth morphology. The computer-aided design tool for the occlusal surfaces is of particular benefit to new users who have limited experience with the inLab system.
Utilizing information drawn from a library of more than 4,000 naturally adapted teeth, the biogeneric software creates the optimal restoration for inlays and onlays, allowing laboratories to easily create sophisticated dental restorations.
Further reducing the complexity of the CEREC method for new users, the biogeneric tooth modeling function creates remarkable natural occlusal surfaces. Minimal input is required from the dentist, as the new software designs the occlusal surfaces automatically on the basis of the residual tooth tissue.
The restoration proposal is simply adapted simultaneously to the adjacent teeth and to an optical bite registration. The restoration is then ready to be milled.
"These revolutionary software developments represent a significant advancement in CAD/CAM technology," said Norbert Ulmer, Director of Dental Laboratory Applications for Sirona Dental Systems. "The software effortlessly restores missing tooth structure in the most natural way possible, making the process of designing highly esthetic and functional restorations a reality for the professional as well as the novice."
The biogeneric technology is only one of the many new features and additions to this revolutionary new software. This new software update should continue to increase the wide range of applications inLab and inEos systems.
