JP Solutions has announced the launch of the Ecotex line of products.

Ecotex was created with the understanding that disposable dental products play a critical role in a safe and productive clinical environment but also can have a negative impact on the planet.

In an effort to balance the needs of the planet and the practitioner, JP Solutions began researching and developing Ecotex brand products to provide the form and function that dentists require but to also integrate the application of the "3 Rs" (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).

Ecotex products have packaging designs or methods to reduce the use of packaging materials and oil consumption in transportation.

Ecotex products and packaging also make use of natural, biodegradable and RECYCLED materials where possible to save trees and reduce landfill impact. JP Solutions estimates that Ecotex's current dental sponge offering, for example, can save 500 tons of paper for the industry and that its special compressed packaging on some items produces a 15% reduction in packaging materials and a 10% reduction in fuel consumption.

The name Ecotex is derived from the words ecology and economy. Initial Ecotex product offerings include cotton-filled gauze sponges, nonwoven sponges, disposable prophy angles, an evacuation system cleaner, and powder-free latex gloves.

JP Solutions expects to offer additional Ecotex products in the future. As part of its commitment to the environment, JP Solutions donates 5% of profits from Ecotex sales to nonprofit conservancy organizations.
