Together, the Miltex sharpening stones and honing oil will provide dental clinicians with the proper tools for re-establishing a dental instrument's cutting edge.

Miltex, Inc., a leading manufacturer of hand-held dental and surgical instruments sold through authorized distributors to the health-care market, has announced the release of its new "Instrument Sharpening Stones and Honing Oil."

The sharpening stones and honing oil complete the company's instrument care product offering, which includes Thompson Cassettes, Tip-It instrument guards, Miltex Silitone color bands, instrument cleaner, stain remover and additional care and cleaning products.

The new dental stones include the Arkansas No. 4 flat stone, the Arkansas conical stone, the India No. 1 fine flat stone, the India No. 6 fine wedge and the India No. 309 fine stone.

Arkansas stones are a natural stone while India stones are aluminum oxide, but both stones may be used to sharpen a variety of dental insruments.

The new Miltex honing oil should be used in conjunction with Miltex stones during the sharpening process. The honing oil helps facilitate movement across the stone, reducing friction and the problem of metallic particles embedding into the stone surface.

Together, the Miltex sharpening stones and honing oil will provide dental clinicians with the proper tools for reestablishing a dental instrument's cutting edge.
