Flagstaff general practitioner vows to "consolidate our voice."

During its recent House of Delegates session at Phoenix Civic Plaza, the Arizona Dental Association (AzDA) elected Paul A. Gosar, DDS, of Flagstaff to serve as President for 2004-2005. Other officers elected were Daniel J. Klemmedson, DDS (President-elect, Tucson), Michael R. Thompson, DDS (Vice President, Scottsdale), Mark B. Hughes, DDS (Secretary, Glendale) and Donald C. Simpson, DDS (Treasurer, Sierra Vista).

When asked what his goals and agenda are for his term of office, Gosar stated: "To become even more proactive than we already are. One of the best things about dentistry is that we're a cottage industry that has to be functional and self-supporting. We understand one another, we are very creative and educated and we understand the complexities of dealing with a workforce. Dentists have a unique perspective, particularly in our economy. Instead of being dictated to, we will consolidate our voice, make our intentions known and stand our ground."

As President of the Arizona Dental Association, Gosar will represent AzDA to government agencies and civic/professional organizations. He will serve on councils and committees, appoint chairs to those groups and serve as a Delegate to the American Dental Association.
