European Association of Registered Dental Hygienists sets meeting

Feb. 29, 2008
Reorganization of European association leads to conference in Germany in May.

Dear Colleague,

Hard to believe, but the year 2007 has come and is almost gone! Whoever said that as we age the time would pass slowly?

The European Association of Registered Dental Hygienists (EARDH) underwent a major change in the year 2007. After 10 years of being a private organization approved by the US Military Command, the EARDH is now a completely private, professional organization registered with the German government!

A vote was taken at the EARDH Business Meeting in May 2006, and the decision to become an independent organization was unnanimously approved by the attending members. Henceforth, the US Military cannot intervene with our decisions or events. This all finally became reality in October 2007 and our title has now been altered to the "European Association of Registered Dental Hygienists." Those members who have been associated with the EARDH since its beginnings are very proud of this split.

The next EARDH Conference and Meeting will be conducted at the Dorint Resort Hotel, an den Thermen in Freiburg, May 8-10, 2008. We are very excited about our speakers and agenda and hope to see you there. The proposed agenda is attached to this letter. The conference registration form, as well as the hotel registration form, are now available on our web page.

Any questions regarding the EARDH membership or upcoming conference can be directed to Tammie Stiess, EARDH Vice-President, [email protected].

Hoping to greet you in Freiburg as an EARDH member for 2008!

Sincerely,
Carol L. Bartoschek, RDH, CHPD
President, EARDH
