CERRITOS, California—Millennium Dental Technologies, pioneers of the LANAP protocol for the treatment of gum disease and manufacturer of the PerioLase® MVP-7 digital dental laser, has announced that David Williams will fill the newly created position of director of field sales.
Williams’ charge is to work alongside Dental Management Service Organizations (DMSOs) to increase adoption of the LANAP protocol and the PerioLase MVP-7 among their dentists.
“The DMSO market has unique needs that aren’t currently being met,” said Williams. “We want to change the situation by listening to these organizations’ needs, then meeting and exceeding their expectations. Millennium Dental Technologies is tailoring special training packages and pricing options to better serve this market. It’s likely to make an incredible impact on ensuring that more patients have access to the profound benefits of LANAP treatment.”
Clinical study with laser technology at heart of study objectives
Williams has worked in the dental industry for more than 25 years, the last six as a sales representative for Millennium Dental. His grasp of the field is an important asset in communicating with DMSOs. Millennium Dental created the position expressly for Williams.
“David certainly understands where the LANAP protocol and the PerioLase MVP-7 fit into our profession,” said Dr. Robert Gregg II, president and chairman of the Board at Millennium Dental.
“But more importantly, he can communicate with leaders in the dentistry business about how to best utilize our product to better treat their patients and enhance profits for their practices at the same time. That’s a message they’re eager to hear. Greater acceptance of the LANAP protocol continues to enable doctors to create scientifically proven regenerative outcomes for periodontal disease patients. In the end, that’s what we all want.”
Williams’ experience in the field has run the gamut from office consulting and digital X-ray sales to selling office management software as one of SoftDent’s top reps. Now he’ll leverage that experience in reaching out to DMSOs and honing the company’s trade show strategies.
To that end, Williams has begun implementing strategies for presenting products in a valuable light at 12 to 15 trade shows in 2011. Williams also looks forward to expanding the company’s sales rep mentoring program. His position is intended to help solo, group, and corporate practices treat more patients.
Williams plans to take a consultative approach to helping DMSOs identify solutions that will benefit their dentists and patients with the patented LANAP protocol for the treatment of gum disease and the PerioLase MVP-7 digital dental laser, a six-watt, free-running variable pulsed Nd:YAG dental laser that features digital technology and seven pulse durations.
