NEWPORT BEACH, California—Glidewell Laboratories, a provider of dental lab products and services, has announced donation of a Prismatik CZ6 Sintering Oven to the Simi Valley Adult School and Career Institute. The institute is the only government-funded career retraining school in California that offers a dental technology program. Glidewell is also donating a number of zirconia blanks that students can use to mill crowns and bridges as a part of their education.“The school was unable to work on all-zirconia restorations because they did not have a proper oven, so they would miss out on learning half of the restoration process,” said Wilma Peterson, CDT, manager of education at Glidewell. “Now they can complete an entire zirconia crown in the classroom.“Glidewell Laboratories President and CEO Jim Glidewell is excited about giving back and sharing his success. These students are the future of the dental technology industry, and he was in their shoes more than 40 years ago, so he wants to do all he can to cultivate the next generation of dental technicians.”The Simi Valley Adult School and Career Institute is the adult education division of the Simi Valley Unified School District.
