June Proofs Editor's Notes

June 14, 2010

By Kevin Henry, Editor, Proofs

Back in the 1980s when Saturday Night Live was in its heyday, one of the funniest people on SNL (in my humble opinion) was Jon Lovitz. The man had some hilarious characters, but one of his routines that always used to crack me up was when he would appear on “Weekend Update” and implore people to “Get to know me!” He would swear that people would better themselves if they only got to know him. If you don’t remember the skit, you can click here for a two-minute audio clip.

Well, starting with this issue of the Proofs e-newsletter, I’d like to get to know you a little better. In our November print and e-newsletter editions, we’ll be publishing our first-ever dental industry member profile, and we need your help. I want to know how long you’ve been in the industry. I want to know some of your biggest triumphs and disappointments. I want to know what motivates you to succeed. Yes, I want to get to know you!

The survey is comprised of just 10 questions (I tried to keep it short, so it should take about three to four minutes to complete … and there are no essay questions to fill out. It’s all multiple choice … promise!). It covers your thoughts on present-day topics as well as asks for your thoughts on 2011. Please take a moment to click here and help me get to know you!

I thank you in advance for your help. The results will be published in November, and I’m looking forward to learning more about the great people who make up our great industry.

Read on, this is your e-newsletter…
