Two create strategic partnership to deliver the best diagnostic and treatment planning products and services for their customers.

SECAUCUS, New Jersey-- Materialise Dental, which develops 3D technology solutions for implant practices, oral and maxillofacial surgeons and orthodontists, and Vatech America, provider of 3D scanning equipment, have announced a strategic partnership to deliver the best diagnostic and treatment planning products and services for their customers.

Users of Vatech’s 3D imaging equipment will have the ability to use the SimPlant treatment-planning software and the capability of ordering SurgiGuide drill guides (custom-made through stereolithography) that can reside on the teeth, mucosa, or even on bone.

With this partnership, dental surgeons can perform in-office 3D scans and import the data into SimPlant to orchestrate effective functional implant planning, thereby eliminating the multiple consultations and follow-up visits that this process normally requires.

By using detailed 3D anatomical imaging data taken from Vatech’s products, specialists performing implant surgery with the aid of SimPlant planning software can now create complete and accurate treatment plans for implant placement surgery.

The SimPlant software and SurgiGuide drill guides are compatible with all implant brands and CT and Cone-beam 3D scanners, thus providing clinicians the opportunity to stay with their implant brands and scanning equipment. The Vatech DICOM 3 file output enables their products to integrate with almost all implant planning and third party volumetric software products.

Travis Harrison, director of business development at Vatech America, said: “We are extremely excited about the new partnership and look forward to better serving the implant marketplace.”

John J. Thomas, general manager at Materialise Dental, said: “The goal of our collaboration with Vatech America Inc. is to show that this cone-beam 3D equipment can be used in conjunction with our computer guided dentistry solutions. It’s an all-in treatment solution, leading to increased case success.”
