IFDH installs president for 2010-13

Maria Perno Goldie, RDH, BA, MS, named July 3, 2010, to post of the International Federation of Dental Hygienists during the closing ceremony of the International Symposium on Dental Hygiene in Glasgow, Scotland.
SAN CARLOS, California--Maria Perno Goldie, RDH, BA, MS, was installed July 3, 2010, as the 2010-13 president of the International Federation of Dental Hygienists during the closing ceremony of the International Symposium on Dental Hygiene in Glasgow, Scotland. Goldie has served in numerous positions within the IFDH and the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, including president elect of the IFDH. She is a Professional Member of National Speakers Association, visiting faculty at the Universities of Rome and Pisa, and a researcher, author, and speaker. Goldie is a member of the National Advisory Committee for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Smoking Cessation Leadership Center and the National Advisory Committee for the Dr. Samuel D. Harris National Museum of Dentistry. Additional IFDH officers installed at the symposium included JoAnn Gurenlian, RDH, PhD, USA, president-elect; Catherine Waldron, RDH, FAETC, MSc., Ireland, vice president; and Leah Karen Littlejohn, RDH, Australia, Treasurer. More than 1,200 dental hygienists from around the globe attended the symposium. The IFDH had 24 member countries represented at the House of Delegates in Edinburgh before the ISDH.
