High Q Dental EOS headlight

LEXINGTON, Kentucky--High Q Dental, a U.S.-based manufacturer and distributor of surgical lighting systems for dental and medical disciplines since 1971, has introduced its latest portable system. The EOS 3 watt LED headlight system weighs 0.4 ounces, and provides variable intensity up to 4,500-foot candles of white light into the field.The EOS headlight is available in a variety of clips to accommodate most common loupes and eyewear, or can be mounted to a headband. Power is provided by a lightweight, lithium ion battery pack that delivers a full day's use, and it has a short three-hour charge time. A universal power charger completes the system.“We’ve taken our time in developing such a small, lightweight, and bright system to assure we addressed all aspects of the light,” said Andy Cooper, High Q president. “There were several issues we wanted to address with such a small light before making it available such as heat, potential cross contamination, battery life and keeping the cost down. Our engineers have done an exceptional job in addressing them all,” added Cooper.A flip-down filter design allows the user to filter the light so as not to impact light-sensitive materials. A removable cap on the filter handle can be autoclaved and re-used to allow for positioning without concern for contamination. Multiple caps come with each system. “The dental market has seen a tremendous influx of headlight systems primarily from overseas which can leave the customer at a disadvantage relative to necessary repairs, general support, and product changes which can make systems obsolete and render support parts unavailable," Cooper said.
