NSF to host informational meeting on ISO Standard for dental amalgam separators

Panel to discuss legislation for devices that help remove mercury from dental office wastewater.

ANN ARBOR, Michigan--NSF International will hold an informational meeting on dental amalgam separators and certification to ISO Standard 11143.

Meeting will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (EST) Oct. 15, 2008, at NSF International Headquarters.

The discussion will cover what regulators, waste water professionals, policy makers, and dentists need to know about the requirements for amalgam separators and the importance of certification of amalgam separators in removing dental amalgam, a major source of mercury in wastewater. A lab tour and luncheon will follow the informational meeting.
