Gambardella receives Massachusetts honor

Contributor to Dental Assisting Digest earns Dr. Ernest LeClaire Educator of the Year award by the Massachusetts Dental Society and the Standing Committee on Allied Dental Health Professions

Ellen Gambardella, CDA, M.Ed, was selected for the Dr. Ernest LeClaire Educator of the Year award by the Massachusetts Dental Society and the Standing Committee on Allied Dental Health Professions. This prestigious award was presented to her by Dr. Stephen Stone at the Crowne Plaza in Natick, Mass.

Gambardella is the director of dental assisting at the Minuteman School of Applied Arts and Sciences in Lexington, MA. She designed a non-traditional dental assisting program for adults which was cited as being progressive and one which graduates highly skilled dental assistants. Dr. Stone thanked Gambardella "for her many years of innovative, dedicated, and impassioned teaching in the field of allied dental education, and in the highest ideals of the dental team. She is a joy to know and very worthy of this distinguished award." In addition to teaching at Minuteman, Ellen is a prominent speaker at dental conferences nationwide and internationally, has published numerous articles, is an ADAA member, holds patents, serves on the Massachusetts Department of Education Vocational Teacher Testing committee and is an OSHA Authorized Trainer #501 by the United States Department of Labor.
