CHARLOTTE, North Carolina--Sirona, a leading global manufacturer of dental equipment, has announced the donation of 340 dental handpieces to the National Children's Oral Health Foundation: America's Toothfairy for distribution to its nonprofit dental facilities.
Twenty of NCOHF's Affiliates received handpieces to use in the care of economically challenged children in their communities. The affiliates are part of a growing national network of nonprofit dental facilities that receive product donations, funding, and sharing of best practices through NCOHF.
Sirona's donation, valued at close to $200,000, will help defray costs for these affiliates.
Fern Ingber, president and CEO of NCOHF, said: "We are grateful to Sirona for the generous donation. This gift will help our nonprofit affiliates to help even more children in desperate need of oral healthcare."
Michael Augins, president of Sirona Dental Systems, LLC, commented: "NCOHF is a wonderful organization and this donation represents an excellent opportunity for Sirona to give back to local communities, helping to extend dental care to those who otherwise would not have access."
