Mississippi dentist installed as ADA trustee

As a member of the ADA Board, of Directors Dr. Donald L. Seago will play a major role in the ADA's organizational objective of being America's leading advocate for oral health.

CHICAGO-- Donald L. Seago, DDS, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon based in Jackson, Miss., was installed as a trustee of the American Dental Association at the ADA's 150th Annual Session and World Marketplace Exhibition.

Dr. Seago will serve on the ADA Board of Trustees as the trustee from the fifth district, which represents Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi. The ADA Board formulates and reviews policies and programs and makes recommendations to the members of the ADA's governing body, the House of Delegates.

As a member of the ADA Board, Dr. Seago will play a major role in the ADA's organizational objective of being America's leading advocate for oral health.

Dr. Seago is a past president of the Mississippi Dental Association and has been a Delegate in the ADA House of Delegates since 1998.

While serving as a lieutenant commander of the U.S. Navy in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971, Dr. Seago was awarded a Bronze Star, as well as a Republic of Vietnam Honor Medal for cleft palate surgery on civilians. Throughout his professional career, he has served his local community in numerous volunteer roles.

Dr. Seago attended Mississippi State University and earned his dental degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry.

He is married to the former Rosemary Moore. They have four sons: Paul, Lee, David and Andrew.
