ARMONK, New York--Dentists can now "watch and learn" as a leading clinician demonstrates and discusses the latest treatment modalities and product innovations in implant dentistry.

Heraeus Kulzer, Inc., a leader in dental esthetics, has announced the availability of a new program, Complete Denture Technique, featuring Dr. Aldo Leopardi.

The program, developed in partnership with the National Dental Network, includes 90 minutes of step-by-step instructional training and covers the treatment of an edentulous patient with complete denture therapy. The content is also well suited for dental laboratories that want to provide technique training and product education to bench-side technicians.

During the program, viewers can watch and learn as Dr. Leopardi demonstrates and discusses the complete treatment cycle including:

* Initial patient interview
* Impression taking
* Maxillomandibular record taking
* Esthetic denture teeth setup
* Fabrication and delivery of the prostheses

Also featured is the revolutionary Filou 28 posterior denture set-up technique from Heraeus Kulzer.

The program, valued at $395, joins the Heraeus Kulzer family of educational programs and is available FREE to qualifying Heraeus Kulzer customers via the video iPod. It also includes an online lesson guide, complete access to the clinician's before-and-after digital case photographs, and 1.5 CE Credits.

Dr. Leopardi received his postgraduate training in fixed, removable and implant prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is past co-director of the Fixed Prosthodontic Program, past director of the Complete Denture Program, and past Implant Residency program supervisor at the University of Detroit Mercy. Today, he practices privately in Denver, Colorado, and lectures nationally on subjects involving fixed, removable and implant dentistry.

"Our objective in delivering this program is to help dentists and technicians improve their skills and confidence in implant dentistry while learning about the latest materials and procedures," said Christopher Holden, president of Heraeus Kulzer.

One of Heraeus Kulzer's overriding initiatives is to enhance education and optimize learning through resource sharing and collaboration. Each year, the company sponsors more than 300 continuing educational events.

In 2007, in a joint initiative with the National Dental Network, Heraeus Kulzer officially unveiled a customized version of the video iPod transforming the way dentists now receive content, earn CE credits, and access information. The iPods, which are FREE to Heraeus Kulzer customers who purchase qualifying dental or laboratory products, come pre-loaded with several types of accredited continuing education--from live-patient, step-by-step clinical demonstrations to product information and updates. The approximate value is $2,000 per iPod.
