Observation: Massachusetts is very close to the national averages in regard to the difficulty in finding a job. For the record, hygienists from the Boston metropolitan area accounted for 48% of the responses.

Length of time since last pay raise in Massachusetts

Observation: Again, the statistics from Massachusetts closely mirror the national averages for pay raises. But we probably should observe that the national average for never receiving a pay raise is 13%, so Massachusetts’s hygienists know what a raise feels like.

Most common hourly pay rates in Massachusetts

$38, $39, $40

Observation: The low end of common hourly rates nationally is $30 an hour. So Massachusetts is well above that. But the high end of common hourly rates is about the same.
