If there is a word to describe the NDA meeting, it would be acceptance. Actually, there are so many words to describe the warmth and openness of the National Dental Association that, truly, it is just something that needs to be experienced firsthand. Dr. Risé Lyman brought greetings on behalf of the AAWD. Dr. Margaret Scarlett represented WDJ as managing editor of the AAWD's official publication. I, Dr. Martha Carr, was also there to represent AAWD in my home area of New Orleans. In true New Orleans fashion, the meeting was fun, festive, and informative. The Woman Luncheon Conference was inspirational and moving. Drs. Romell Madison and Joy Jordan, president and president-elect of NDA respectively, were a welcoming and wonderful example of leadership in action. There is a formality and an environment surrounding the NDA that is fun for the whole family and the entire dental team. This was my first NDA meeting, but it will certainly not be my last. I encourage all of you to attend the NDA if you can. You will receive a warm reception, feel accepted, make new connections, have fun, and learn — all at the same time!
