Looking for a new dental team member? Look no further than Facebook. Just when we think they’ve outdone themselves in every way, they introduce the Facebook “Jobs” dashboard.
How it benefits dental practices
The best part is that you can manage your job postings through your practice’s Facebook page, no newfangled apps or technology needed. Like anything else that you post, your job listing will be seen on your page, in the newsfeeds of those who follow you, in the Facebook Marketplace, and in Facebook’s “Jobs” dashboard.
This will allow you to track responses just like you would with your posts. Who is responding? Where? Are they the type of candidates you're looking for? If not, how should you refine your post? If you belong to any professional or social Facebook groups, you can expand your search by sharing your job posting with these groups. And, of course, there is always the Messenger feature. If there is anyone in your network who might be interested (or might know someone who could be interested), you can reach out via Messenger.
How this benefits applicants
Potential hires can easily find your job posting by selecting their ideal location, the dental industry, and the type of job they want (part-time, full-time, contract, etc.). When they find your listing and express interest, you’ll be able to see the relevant information they make available (which means you will not have access to their crazy Cancun vacation photos unless they want you to). They can also easily share their resumé.
Make it work
Just like anything else you post on Facebook, you need to appeal to your audience—in this case, potential hires. Be mindful that many users will see your posts on their mobile devices, so keep your wording concise. Since a picture paints a thousand words, include images that suggest why someone would want to join your team (your office interior or smiling team members), and maybe even videos of current employees or patients who can attest to your kindness and professionalism.
The next time you need to add to your team, I suggest you give Facebook a try. You might just find your new best asset!
