Getting back to work, post-COVID

June 8, 2020
Dr. Chris Salierno waited a week after dentists in his state were told they could reopen. He and the team had to get a lot of things in order before they could treat patients properly. Here he shares some of the helpful resources he recommends.
Chris Salierno, DDS, Chief Editor, Dental Economics

On Sunday, May 31, it was announced that dentistry in New York could resume the following day. While this was a great relief to the estimated 15,000 dentists across the state, we quickly realized that reopening a practice is not as simple as flipping a switch. While I could begin to practice as of June 1, my office did not start treating patients until this week. We have new patient workflows to practice, team members who must find childcare services, and we have to build a schedule that prioritizes the most concerning dental needs of our patients.

Whether you have been practicing for a month or if, like me, you are just getting back to work, I am pleased to share the June issue of Dental Economics with you. While the print edition may not reach you for another few days, this digital edition is now available, and I believe it provides critical information for dentists that cannot wait.

I wish you and your practices a healthy and speedy recovery!

 Cheers,

  Chris
